George’s first column with the Wisconsin Outdoor Journal. He wrote regular North Country Notebook columns for WOJ and Isthmus until his death in 1995. This column is a pretty good introduction to his writing, and his influences on his writing. The attached photo shows the stringer of trout George and his son caught at Mel Ellis’ Little Lakes during the 1971 interview mentioned in the column.
