Isthmus 8-16-91: Poetry for an Empty Stomach (The Hungry Poet #1)
This is the first time the Hungry Poet appears in North Country Notebook. Ed Teela had closed the legendary baitshop and opened Steady Eddy’s Cafe on Williamson Street in Madison. The premise is a poet coming into the Cafe and offering to exchange poems for jambalaya and gazpacho. The food really was made by Steady Eddy, but the poems were written by George Vukelich. There were seven columns with the Hungry Poet and Steady Eddy.
